"After coming from the backwoods of Nova Scotia and attending Uni for 4 years, I was looking for a little fun and excitement. I found it in the form of the Work In Ireland program. I showed up in October, submitted a dozen job applications, visited several agencies and generally pounded the pavement. After which I found a customer service job in EBAY. Do I work hard? Yes, but Ireland offers many opportunities to play hard too! If you show up with an outgoing and flexible attitute, you can't go wrong. You'll be surprised by the crazy characters who'll make up your social circles, the wacky jobs you take on to support yourself and the mad places you'll end up on what was meant to be a 'quiet night in'. In summary, I came for the men and stayed for the craic!..."

The people are so friendly and there's never a shortage of things to do! It's a truly beautiful country. Next week I have to travel around Ireland with my job, so I get to discover even more!"

"At a first glance, Dublin seemed imposing however after only one week, I was navigating the streets with ease heading to job interviews and looking at flats. USIT gave me all the assistance I needed to hit the ground running and settle into the city. I particularly appreciated the free internet, job's board and that someone is always around to pester with my questions! I plan to do some travelling while I'm here. I think working in Ireland provides the opportunity to see more of Europe."

"I wanted to go on an adventure to another country without the problem of a language barrier. Ireland was perfect. I've been here for a month now. I found a job and accommodation within a week and I'm really settling in well. I miss my family and my boyfriend, but he's coming to visit and we plan to travel all over Ireland and hope to visit Prague and Moscow too! I'm really happy with the service from USIT. I feel like I have someone to rely on if any problems arise."

"I have always wanted to travel around Europe, so I thought Ireland was a great starting point. I'm earning enough money and really enjoying myself too!. I found my accommodation through the Evening Herald paper and got my job by handing in resumes everywhere. I was really surprised at how multi-cultural Dublin is. I'm working with people from all over, so it's a great way to learn about different cultures! I'm very satisfied with the program so far. All my questions were answered at the arrival orientation and it's just nice to know that USIT office is there to contact if I need to."

"The arrival orientation was very helpful, especially with tax issues and just common sense stuff to know! After 2 weeks, I secured a job through a recruitment agency. The atmosphere is work is more laid back and enjoyable than home and I get on so well with everybody. I came to Ireland with the hope that I would really experience a different culture, learn more about Ireland and gain experience working in a foreign environment. So far all my expectations have been fulfilled!"
