Health Care in South Africa

Are you interested in a career in the medical field? Are you studying to become a nurse or a doctor? Do you care about the wellbeing of others? If so, our Health Programme will enable you to gain access into a South African hospital which will no doubt be a very humbling and life changing experience for you. Volunteers are required to have some experience in the medical sector, but do not necessarily need to be qualified. You will be involved in every aspect of hospital activities including the weighing, counseling and testing of patients. You will also be able to observe professionals, but under no circumstances will you be operating on patients. Dispensing pills, talking to and comforting patients, office work, testing patients for HIV and TB – You will learn a wealth of knowledge and gain a true appreciation for what doctors, nurses and counselors do for their communities on a daily basis. You too could save lives
