Chorrillos, southwest of Lima
It is located in the southwest area of Lima, in the district called Chorrillos. Chorrillos was once a beach resort town, and it was the scene of a heavy fighting during the war between Peru and Chile in 1880 – 1881 and much of it was destroyed. Today, Chorrillos is tucked up against the Pacific Ocean and offers stunning panoramic views of the bay of Lima and the island of San Lorenzo in Callao. With an atmosphere that resembles a fish market and décor to match, the mood is very relaxed in Chorrillos.
