Wildlife Conservation Lima

Wildlife Conservation Lima

This ecologic park is divided into 2 large sectors, a graveyard and a zoo park. Since1998 the graveyard received different kind of animals such as llamas, vicuñas and alpacas that were given like a gift to the police team when they worked in the highlands. Every year the numbers of animals were increasing, and the need to open a zoo started. When the years passed, the zoo was growing, and new species were part of it like turtles, reptiles, different kind of monkeys, Aratinga and Black head parrots, añujes and deers.

Details of tasks

The zoo has one person in charge and 2 helpers, therefore many volunteers are needed. Volunteers will help to create native environment for the animals, Activities would include: clearing the paths, feed the animals etc.

The zoo has 200 Sylvester and domestic animals such as: reptiles, birds, mammalian (primate, south American camel, cervidos).
It also has an artificial lagoon, of 2.8 hectare. In the middle of this lagoon, there is an island for white and black Machines monkeys,

The Fondo de Apoyo Funerario de la Policía Nacional del Perú, is in charge of the maintenance of the animals, but sadly, can't afford to build a new center or adapt the environments for the different kind of animals, and is for this reason that many animals share the same space.
