You won’t tackle the whole thing on this 10-day trip, but you’ll return home with a deeper understanding of the life that goes on around and upon it.     Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting

    The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you’re back in time to meet the group. After introductions, your CEO will review the details of your tour. Please note that normal check-in times apply at our start hotels, but you can usually store your luggage for the day if you arrive early.

  • Day 3Beijing / Jiankou

    Transfer to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Enjoy a hike along the Great Wall followed by a drive to Jiankou Village in the afternoon. Spend the night in Jiankou Village.

    • Cable Car at Great Wall

      The cable car ride is about 5 minutes ride up to tower 14, from where you may walk to the highest point of Mutianyu Great Wall at Tower 23. The walk from ticket check to tower 10 is about 30 minutes.The cable car ride is a good option if you are hoping to save energy to challenge the Tower 23. Return ticket is recommended as you may spend more time on the wall.

    • Toboggan at Great Wall

      Toboggan Station is at Tower 6. The return ticket include a cable car up to Tower 6 and the Toboggan.

      After your hike on the Great Wall, opt to take a Toboggan ride back down instead of the cable car!

  • Day 4Jiankou / Gubeikou

    Hike Jiankou village and visit the Great Wall in the morning. In the afternoon, transfer to Gubeikou and explore the village before getting settled at the guesthouse. Once settled, find some inner peace with a Tai Chi lesson before dinner.

    Great Wall Trek

    Hike along the Jiankou portion of the Great Wall, famed for it's steep mountainous landscape. This hike is known as one of the most photogenic portions of the Wall.

    Tai Chi Lesson

    Learn the ancient Chinese practise of tai chi. There are 108 moves in total, with names such as "Carry Tiger to Mountain", but a lesson should be able to teach you the basics of this traditional technique.

  • Day 5Gubeikou

    Transfer to the starting point of the "Crouching Tiger" portion of the Great Wall and enjoy a three hour hike along the wall.

    Enjoy scenes of vast landscapes and wild greenery as the Crouching Tiger portion of the Great Wall is known for containing unrestored portions of the original wall. Crowned with a two-storey watch tower, jump back in time and get a glimpse of ancient China.

    Great Wall Trek: Crouching Tiger

    One of the less visited portions of the Great Wall, Crouching Tiger offers stunning views of untamed and unrestored portions of the original Wall. Enjoy the wild landscape and soak in the sights of the crown of the wall - a beautiful two storey watch tower.

  • Day 6Gubeikou / Huangyaguan, China

    Continue hiking along from Gubeikou to the Jinshanling portion of the Great Wall. Finish hiking in the afternoon and transfer to the Huangyaguan portion in Tianjin.

    Hike the wall from Gubeikou to Jinshanling. Maintenance of the Wall starts improving here and walking becomes easier along the way. Walk through this rolling landscape and see the watchtowers that disappear over the horizon.

    Great Wall Trek: Jinshanling

    Hiking a loop of Jinshanling Great Wall.The Wall is better restored here, but the trek is no less spectacular.

    Due to the closure of Jinshanling Great Wall, the hike along the wall will end where Gubeikou meets Jinshanling.

  • Day 7Huangyaguan, China

    Enjoy the last day trekking along the Wall at Huangyaguan, named for the bright yellow flowers that appear in this region. Spend the night in a guesthouse.

    Great Wall Trek: Huangyuguan to Jixian

    Walk through the ascents and descents on the Great Wall from Huangyaguan. Continue along the last section of the trek as the countryside all around ebbs and flows and the terrain on the Wall becomes more solid again.

    Explore Qing Tombs on the way back to Beijing. Arrive in Beijing around noon and enjoy half day free time.

    This mausoleum complex measures over 80sq km (31 sq mi) and is the best preserved mausoleum complex in the country. Five emperors, 15 empresses, 3 princes, 2 princesses, and 136 concubines (!) are buried here.

    Today is free to explore Beijing. Take a tour of the ancient hutongs (alleyways) in Beijing's Old City. Other options include the Summer Palace or a visit to a Tibetan monastery.

      This UNESCO World Heritage Site consists of palaces, lakes, and gardens in Beijing and is absolutely stunning. Its main components are Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, which is 60m (200 feet) high and has many buildings on it. Kunming Lake is actually man made, and measures 2.2sq km (1.4 sq mi).

    • Kung Fu Show - Beijing

      Follow the tale of a young boy on his journey to becoming a kung fu master through six gripping scenes told through traditional Chinese art and live modern dance. (Don’t worry; there are subtitles above the stage). Developed by some of China’s top stage directors and designers, the performance showcases the skills of its talented cast, most of whom are just 17 years old.
