Providing on-the-ground support to visitors from around the globe since the 1970's, USIT is the leading youth travel organization in Ireland with over 59 years’ experience leading work and travel programs.

We offer pre-arranged placements of 6-12 months duration with a leading provider of skilled labor to farms in Ireland. Participants will gain valuable experience and knowledge while working on the best dairy farms Ireland has to offer. It will include everything from breeding, grassland management, best milking practices, calf rearing and so much more.

This once in a lifetime opportunity allows you to gain independence, make life-time friendships & experience life in another country such as Ireland.

Programme Length: 6-12 months (placement durations vary).

The ideal start date is from mid Jan to June which Ireland’s peak season, but we do offer placements later in the year and shorter placements of 3 months.

Who can apply?

  • The programme is open anyone (male or female) aged 18-30 years
  • Ideally studying towards or completed a third level course in agricultural or animal science, veterinary science or medicine or farm/land management
    or
    come from a farming background or grew up in farming
  • A good sense of adventure and a positive attitude
  • Have no previous criminal convictions
  • Ideally a full clean Drivers licence (but not essential)
