What is the e-Visa India?
If you’re planning a trip to India, you will need to apply for an e-Visa. The e-Visa India is an electronic authorisation that enables citizens from eligible countries to travel to and within India. It is a double entry visa and has a validity period of up to 60 consecutive days.
The Visa process is all completed online. Once your visa has been processed, you will receive your approved e-Visa by email. You are required to print off a copy of the e-Visa and carry it with you at all times during your stay in India. Upon arrival in India, you must show this printed e-Visa as well as a scanned coloured copy of your passport and a recent regulation-size passport photo to an Immigration Officer. Once your documents are verified, you will receive the visa sticker on your passport and you’re free to set off and explore!
Foreign nationals from eligible countries can apply for an e-Visa India a maximum of 2 times per year. This ‘Visa on Arrival’ is only available for those who have applied for and obtained the e-Visa before arriving in India - you may not submit an e-Visa India application after arriving in India.
The e-Visa India allows you to stay in India for up to 60 consecutive days.
