USIT Teaching in New Zealand

Currently New Zealand is going through a period of high demand for qualified and recently graduated teachers. With much of the teaching practice in New Zealand recognised towards our own Teaching Council requirements it’s an ideal opportunity for intrepid teachers to experience Working Abroad while still building up their teaching hours.

  • Secondary Teachers – Science, Maths, Technology, Economics/Accounting/Business Studies, ICT/Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.

  • Sign Language and Special Education teachers.

How it works

  1. Become familiar with the NZ’s education system – For example the Structure ~ Primary = Years 1-6, Intermediate = Years 7 & 8 and Secondary = Years 9-13.
  2. Book your Teach in New Zealand programme with USIT.
  3. Discuss the opportunities available to you with your USIT rep & how teaching registration works & what the best visa for you will be.
  4. Your USIT rep will guide you through the application process & along with our ground partners in NZ will set you up with interviews.
  5. Secure a Job
  6. Leave for your New Zealand Adventure!
