Work New Zealand T&Cs

USIT Work New Zealand Terms and Conditions for your booking.

The Work New Zealand program is offered by JENZA Travel Limited trading as USIT (the “Company”). The program is designed to support participants to complete the steps required to obtain a Working Holiday Visa issued separately by the New Zealand Government

By joining the program you are bound by the company’s general terms and conditions which are listed HERE.

1. Program inclusions

If you are booked on to our Kickstart program you will receive:

  • New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
  • Guidance on how to set up a bank account and IRD (tax) number
  • 12 month medical insurance policy

If you are booked on to our Essential program you will receive:

  • New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
  • Guidance on how to set up a bank account and IRD (tax) number
  • 12-month medical insurance policy
  • 12 month’s access to our jobs database
  • Airport transfer
  • 3 nights hostel accommodation (in Auckland or Christchurch only)
  • Guided city tour and other welcome activities

If you are booked on to our Ultimate program you will receive:

  • New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
  • Guidance on how to set up a bank account and IRD (tax) number
  • 12 month’s access to our jobs database and job assistance from our team
  • Airport transfer
  • 7 nights hostel accommodation (in Auckland or Christchurch only)
  • Guided city tour and other welcome activities
  • 12-month medical insurance policy

2. Program costs and payments schedule

The cost of your program is outlined on our website at the time of your booking. The relevant payments will be shown on the payments page of your online account.

What are you paying the Company for?

Kickstart

  • Stage 1 – Full payment

Complete visa form with basic details. The Company submit your visa application. You receive the approved visa. We send you the guidance PDF on how to obtain a bank account and IRD number.

Stage 1 - At the time of booking your Work New Zealand program, you must pay the full amount. Once you have paid this fee, we will collect information from you to apply for your Working Holiday Visa. Once the visa is approved, it will be sent to you. You will then be put in contact with our team in New Zealand who will assist you with setting up your bank account and IRD number once you arrive in New Zealand. Your insurance policy will also be issued once your arrival date has been confirmed.

Essentials

  • Stage 1 - Deposit

Receive welcome email

  • Stage 2 - Visa Processing fee

Complete visa form with basic details. The Company submit your visa application. You receive the approved visa. You confirm which date you would like to land in New Zealand

  • Stage 3 - Final payment

The Company will officially book you on to the specified welcome date. Once you arrive in New Zealand, your support package will continue with the team in your chosen city.

Stage 1 - At the time of booking your Work New Zealand program, you must pay a non-refundable deposit. You acknowledge that your application cannot progress further until you have paid the second payment. If you don’t pay the second payment, your application will stay as it is and your deposit will remain non-refundable.

Stage 2 - The visa processing fee will be due after your initial deposit. This payment will allow us to apply for the Working Holiday Visa for you. We will ask you for basic information that we need before we can process the visa application. During this time, you can also let us know which date you would like to book on to for our arrival package.

Stage 3 – Your final balance is due no later than 8 weeks before your intended travel date. Whilst your arrival date has been provisionally booked, we won’t confirm the booking until the final payment has been received.

Ultimate

  • Stage 1 - Deposit

During this time, you can also let us know which date you would like to book on to for our arrival package. Recommend to pay no later than 8 weeks before chosen travel date to New Zealand

Stage 3 – Your final balance is due no later than 8 weeks before your intended travel date. Whilst your arrival date has been provisionally booked, we won’t confirm the booking until the final payment has been received. Our arrival dates for the ultimate program must meet a minimum number of bookings to go ahead. Should you be booked on to a date that doesn’t meet this number, we will contact you before your departure date and discuss downgrading to our essentials programme that would start on the same date.

What fees will you need to pay to third parties?

  • Any additional travel insurance you require
  • Return flights
  • Proof of funds (you must be able to show proof that you have at least $4200 NZD in support funds)
  • Accommodation
  • Spending money

Regardless of the circumstances, the Company are unable to refund any of these fees.

Cost increase notice In the event of a cost increase for the program, the Company will provide customers with at least 30 days notice before the new cost takes effect. Customers are responsible for paying the increased cost as specified in the notice.

By continuing to use the program after the specified notice period, customers acknowledge and agree to the revised cost.

The Company reserves the right to adjust the program costs as necessary to reflect changes in operational expenses, market conditions, or other factors that may affect the overall service provision. Any such adjustments will be communicated to customers in a timely manner, allowing them to make informed decisions regarding their continued participation in the program.

3. Transferring or changing your booking

The deposit is transferable to any Company program up until the point of your visa application being submitted by the Company. After this, your deposit will be considered as used and therefore be non-transferable. If you have already secured your visa, your deposit will be considered used after you have informed us of the date you wish to travel to Australia.

Date changes might be available for your arrival but will incur the following costs:

  • 56 days or more before your booked date: Free date change
  • 15 – 55 days before your booked date: €250
  • Within 14 days of your booked date: No tour date change available

All date changes are subject to availability.

Your deposit is protected for life, however, is not transferable to another person. Your Working Holiday Visa must be printed with your correct name, date of birth, place and country of birth. It is your responsibility to provide details on all application forms that exactly match your passport.

Please note any amendments required to the visa application after submission due to applicant error or the applicant receiving a new passport may incur change fees, such changes include but are not limited to: applicant passport name change and passport number change.

4. Program cancellation

The program deposit is a non-refundable fee. The only exception is if your application is rejected by the company before the visa application is submitted, in which case you are subject to a €30 administration fee. The visa processing fee will also become non-refundable once your visa application is submitted. The below amounts will be held by the Company when cancelling at specific stages. Any non-refundable fees as stated above are not included in the below amounts:

Kickstart:

  • Cancellation before your visa application has been submitted: Your non-refundable deposit
  • Cancellation after your visa application has been submitted: 100% (no refund due)

Essential (with a visa):

  • Cancellation received 60 or more days before departure: 10% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 45-59 days before your departure: 25% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 31-44 days before your departure: 50% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 15-30 days before your departure: 75% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received within and including 14 days before your departure: 100% (no refund due)

Ultimate:

  • Cancellation received 60 or more days before departure: 10% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 45-59 days before your departure: 25% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 31-44 days before your departure: 50% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received 15-30 days before your departure: 75% of your final payment
  • Cancellation received within and including 14 days before your departure: 100% (no refund due)

If you must cancel from the program you must confirm this in writing. Your cancellation will be effective from the date it is received in the office where the booking was made, and the relevant cancellation fees will apply. Please ask for details of cancellation fees at the time of booking. Refunds normally can take up to 15 working days from the time all appropriate documentation is received into the Program Department.

5. Visa

Working Holiday Visa Eligibility:

Must hold a valid passport from one of the countries listed here .

  • Must be aged 18-30 (35 for Irish, Argentinian, Canadian, Chile, Czech, Finnish, Hungary, Slovakian and Uruguayan Nationals)
  • Must not have previously held A New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
  • Must have a minimum of $4,200 NZD in support funds (an additional $500 NZD is required if travelling on a one-ay ticket).

The requirements of the Working Holiday Visa are subject to New Zealand Government approval and may change without notice.

While the Company aims to process all non-standard visa applications in the shortest possible timescale, it does not provide any guarantees on how long the process will take and cannot be held responsible should the immigration authorities or any other third party change their rules, regulations or processing requirements, thus affecting the timeline for delivery. However, the Company will use its best endeavours to minimise any delay or inconvenience caused in this respect. The Company is not responsible for any date change fees should you need to amend your departure dates due to any delay in your visa.

Visa conditions

  • Open working holiday visa. The maximum work duration is 12 months.
  • You have 12 months to enter New Zealand once the visa is issued
  • Visas are issued at the discretion of New Zealand Immigration.

The Company do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred through a delay in visa processing or where a visa is refused. If your visa is refused the above programme and product extra cancellations conditions apply

The visa cost is set by Immigration New Zealand and is subject to change without notice. The Company will notify participants of any change to the advertised cost. Where there is an increase in the visa cost, the participant will be responsible for meeting such costs. 6. Additional program documentation and fees

To apply for your New Zealand Working Holiday Visa you may be required to submit a police criminal background check or medical examinations. This could lead to additional third-party fees and delays to your application. Typical reasons for needing a medical include (but not limited to);

  • You have or have had tuberculosis
  • Have a pre-existing medical condition which may require hospitalisation during your stay
  • Are pregnant or intend to give birth in New Zealand
  • Intend to stay in New Zealand for 6 months or more and have spent six consecutive months in a country with a high incidence of tuberculosis

You are required to disclose information relating to existing medical conditions, criminal history, nationality and occupation during the initial application stage so the Company can determine if you will be required to submit extra documents and how it will affect your application processing time.

7. Flights

Flights are not included as part of the program and you will be responsible for booking them. You should not arrange travel until you have received your Working Holiday Visa. You must provide your booked travel information to the Company at least 4 weeks before you intend to fly.

The applicant agrees that the Company will not be held responsible for any costs incurred if a flight change needs to be made. Examples of this include, but not limited to, visa delays.

8. Insurance

Medical insurance is provided as part of the programme . Full information of your Insurance plan and the claims procedure will be provided to you once the policy is issued. The Company is not the insurance provider and is not liable for any claims, coverage updates or refunds related to the policy.

The insurance policy includes a number of exclusions which may include but are not limited to pre-existing medical conditions and any medication that you use regularly. Please ensure that you have read and understood the terms and conditions and exclusions included in your insurance policy in advance of your departure from your home country. The insurance policy may include an excess or deductible, which you will have to pay on any qualifying claims. If there are any items not covered by the policy it is your responsibility to acquire any additional policies to protect you during your time in Australia.

9. Job support

It is up to the participant to find their own job; it is recommended you do research on the area you are travelling to, to ensure you are travelling to an area where placements are readily available

For participants availing of job assistance, we do not guarantee any job locations in New Zealand.

Please also note, by signing up to a job interview through your online account, there is no guarantee that you will be hired. Hiring is at the sole discretion of the employer.

It is up to each participant who has availed of job assistance to apply for an interview for their New Zealand job through the employer database released to them once their application materials have been received and fully processed by the team. We do not allocate interviews to participants, you must sign up for an interview yourself. All job interviews listed on the jobs database are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

10. Declaration

You know of no reason why you may be refused a visa (e.g. have been arrested or convicted of a crime; previously experienced visa/immigration problems; or have overstayed on a previous visit). If you suspect that you may have problems, you will disclose these reasons in writing to the Work New Zealand team. If a visa is refused for reasons previously undisclosed, no refund will be given.
