Grad Visa: Internship Roles Announced In New York and San Francisco

Legal Intern in the Law Offices of J. McCarney

The firm is headed by James McCarney, an alitigation attorney with over 30 years’ experience. They have a varied case load, including financial sector arbitrations, commercial litigation in federal court and criminal matters also.

Now they’re looking for a Legal Intern to start in June. During this internship, the intern will receive an introduction to the NY way of law.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing and drafting various legal documents

• Reviewing production as part of the discovery process

• Completing a range of research projects

• Liaising with clients and attending client meetings

• Attending to billing matters

• Processing documents and filing same

• Filing documents in court and online

• Answering calls and screening potential new clients

He/she will also get to attend court appearances, mediations, depositions and will be involved in client meetings and calls. It is a very hands-on roll and excellent experience for someone looking to get to  know New York litigation.
