It’s getting to that time of the year when the window of opportunity, left ajar for recent Irish graduates to spend a life-changing year in the US, is starting to close. By last August, the initial allocation of Graduate Visa’s to be issued in 2016 was filled up. That scramble last year is set to repeat itself in 2017 and perhaps surpass it, given the lack of confirmation of the 2018 programme.
For thousands of graduates, the early weeks of summer are about celebrating, enjoying the sweet release of exam stress and toasting to a job well done. While that’s been going on (and rightly it should), ambitious dreams have been making Manhattan day dreams a reality – or at least making the first strides towards it.
There are now less than 250 Golden (Gate) Tickets without a name beside them.
